No matter where you live or what climate you prefer, there’s no denying the beauty of Montana’s Quake Lake. This video features two kids playing hockey skating across the picturesque landscape.
Majestic mountains filled with snow provide a beautiful background to this video, but the real star is the frozen lake. Looking like a sea of glass, Quake Lake also has trees growing up through the ice.
The kids weave between the trees and skate with their hockey sticks clicking on the ice. There’s even a part of the video from a helmet cam that puts you right inside the scenic surroundings.
Quake lake is actually named Earthquake Lake. It was created in 1959 after an earthquake hit near the Madison River in southwestern Montana. The lake runs for five miles and is 190 feet deep.
The earthquake that created the lake registered 7.5 on the Richter scale, which led to an 80-ton landslide. The landslide created a dam for the Madison River and stopped water flow, making the lake.
Not only is Quake Lake suitable for ice hockey, but it’s also a popular fishing location. The timbers that stick out of the water cause fish to gather nearby. The lake provides plenty of excitement for local fishermen
This video clip shows how beautiful nature can truly be. The kids
playing hockey are simply enjoying the fun that the frozen lake
provides. A visit to Quake Lake is quite memorable, and this video will
leave a lasting impression.
